Immune Support Tips

Health is currently the most pervasive topic amongst New Zealanders. With widespread concern about the global spread of COVID-19 and as we adjust to our new working circumstances, the value of being well has never been more apparent. We are reminded that our health & wellness is the centre of everything!

Here are our tips for boosting your immunity, general health, and well-being during this precarious time.

 

Exercise Daily

With self-isolation rules in place, it's important to find new ways to get your heart pumping at least once a day. Exercise raises your body temperature and your heart and breathing rate, which powers up your immune system. White blood cells and antibodies are positively changed when you get your sweat on and it's a fantastic way to release endorphins and battle stress induced by working from home. We recommend an hour walk or run every day to get some sunshine and physical exercise. Alternatively, there are some amazing workout apps including the Nike Fitness Club or Sweat by Kayla Itsines that don’t rely on much equipment and can be done at home.  

 

Reign in your Diet

One of the best things you can do to boost your immune system is eating a varied and nutritious diet. When your body is fueled properly by adequate nutrients, it's at its best and most prepared to keep you well. Try avoiding processed, fast foods and sugar-rich foods in your daily diet and include as many greens and vegetables as possible.
