Who are you? Your life story in one paragraph. 

I am a natural red-head from the windy capital Wellington. I am 22 years of age and currently completing my Bachelors of Sport & Recreation whilst working full-time - yes, it is doable. I am in Auckland because my family moved up here so initially I didn't really have a choice in the matter. I did my schooling up here and decided to stay with just my sister to do my degree and work. I wasn't always a gym bunnie - I used to be a competitive field hockey player until I left school and realised what a social life was.

 

What do you like most about working here?

I love the people I work with. The banter is always on point and I won't go a day without nearly weeing myself in laughter. I also like learning about new supplements as well as getting to meet different people who come in to the store.

 

What do you do to stay fit?

Weight train 6 days a week with the odd session of HITT or low intensity cardio.

 

Feel free to go into the details of your training.

I train each muscle group twice a week: lower body, chest/triceps/shoulders, back/biceps. Then on the lower body day I finish with some HITT to really burn myself out. On the upper body days I tend to opt for low intensity rower or treadmill on incline, and if I'm not at my own gym and the gym I am at has a step machine, I will use that.

 

What's your favourite/least favourite exercise?

My favourite exercise would have to be Glute Bridges because what girl doesn't want a strong, perky booty.

My least favourite exercise would be anything ab-related.

 

What's your favourite workout music?

I love me some dirty house music as well as streaming George FM.

 

What's your favourite food?

I have a favourite savory food which is tacos, followed by my favourite sweet food which would have to be doughnuts.

 

What's your #1 fitness/nutrition/health tip?

My advice to anyone wanting to start their own fitness journey is to remember you are different than everyone else, and what works for them may not necessarily work for you. But that doesn't mean you aren't going to get to where you want to be!

 

If you could only use three supplements for the rest of your life, what would they be and why?

1. BCAAs (Scivation Xtend): They ensure I drink fluids whilst training as well as aid in the recovery and growth of lean muscle.

2. CLA: These little beauties are my good fatty acids that help increase my body's metabolic rate as well as general immunity.

3. Protein (Zealea Egg White): Protein is essential for anyone wanting to maintain and build lean muscle. Think of your body like a car; it needs fuel to function and perform.
