How's it going?
Now how often are you thinking about your heart health?
Not in panic attack kind of way.
I mean generally think about what you're doing to support it.
Most of us don't, not until something goes wrong.
We focus on looking good, boating muscle, getting strong, but your heart, your heart is literally
keeping you alive every single second.
And most of us treat it like an afterthought.
Here's the thing, heart disease is still the leading cause of death globally.
But here's the good news, a lot of it is preventable.
And one of the smartest things you can do to support your heart health proactively before
there is a problem.
So today we're talking about supplements that support cardiovascular health.
It's foundational support for the most important muscle you have.
So let's dive in.
Most of you know your heart is a muscle.
It's a really important one, a pump's blood, a delivers oxygen and it removes waste.
It does this around 70 to 100 times per minute every single day of your entire life.
Never takes a break.
So when your cardiovascular system is under stress, so that's high blood pressure, poor
blood flow, inflammation and oxidative stress, your entire body suffers.
The good news, most cardiovascular health comes down to lifestyle and what you put in
your body.
So diet, exercise, sleep, stress, supplementation.
These aren't optional if you want a healthy heart.
All right, so let's talk about the supplements that can actually support your heart health.
So number one on my list is Omega 3 fish oil.
So we've already done a podcast on this.
If you've listened to it already, you know the benefits of EPA and DHA support.
So there's blood flow and circulation, healthy triglyceride levels, heart rhythm and overall
cardiovascular function.
So Omega 3 in my view is foundational for heart health.
It's a non-negotiable.
The next on my list would be magnesium.
So magnesium is involved over 300 of your body processes in your body, sorry.
For your heart specifically, it supports your heart rhythm, regulation, blood pressure,
balance, arterial, flexibility and muscle relaxation from the heart of the muscle.
Most people are deficient in magnesium.
If you're doing nothing else, magnesium should be the next thing on your list.
My third cab on the rank is Coins I'm Q 10 or Co Q 10.
So Co Q 10 is the compound that your cells use for energy production.
Your heart cells especially need a lot of energy.
Co Q 10 supports your heart cell energy.
It's an antioxidant protective blood pressure balance, healthical and cholesterol levels.
Here's something important.
If you're also on standing medications, this could be lowering your Co Q 10 levels.
So supplementing with it can be quite important.
My fourth cab on the rank is beetroot.
I'm done a whole podcast on this one as well on performance, but it also has cardiovascular
benefits that are equally important.
So nitric oxide from the beetroot nitrates, it supports that blood vessel dilation, blood
flow, healthy blood pressure and overall cardiovascular efficiency.
My fifth one on the list is Hawthorn Berry.
So Hawthorn is a traditional heart support herb that's quite well researched.
It supports that heart function, blood flow, healthy blood pressure, overall cardiovascular
resilience.
And number six on my list is garlic extract.
So garlic has been used for cardiovascular health for centuries.
Research shows it may support your healthy cholesterol levels, blood pressure balance,
arterial health and it has anti-inflammatory effects.
So here's the thing.
You don't need to take every supplement I just mentioned.
So start with those foundational ones.
I think tier one would be omega three fissure and magnesium.
Tier two, if you wanted to add more, cook you tin, beetroot powder and tier three is that
hole thorn and garlic extract.
If you're taking tier one, you're already doing most of what matters.
So dosing, so I like to go with the dosing on omega three of trying to hit one gram of
DHA and one gram of EPA per day.
And magnesium around 200 to 400 mg per day.
Glacinate or 38 forms, I think our best co-cutaners around that 100 to 300 mg per day.
Trying to have that with fat or at least food to help with the absorption.
Beetroot, 5 to 10 grams of powder daily and that lines out with about 300 to 600 mg of
nitrates.
Hawthorn, check that out.
It varies widely by the extract you are taking and garlic 500 to 1000 mg daily.
Timing is critical with these ones, just like everything and life consistency is.
This is what's important to understand.
Supplements always support a healthy lifestyle, they don't replace it.
So if you're taking omega three, magnesium or the rest by eating processed food, not exercising
and out of chronic stress, these supplements won't save you.
Hard health comes from your regular exercise, whole-field diet, stress manager, quality
sleep, no siggies and moderate alcohol intake.
Once we'll enhance these things, they don't replace them.
And here's the reality, a lot of heart disease is preventable.
Hypertension, high cholesterol, arterial stiffness, these things develop over years of poor habits
and they can be prevented with proactive habits.
Start your heart, if you start your heart, your journey at 25, it is way easier than starting
at 55 when you already got damage.
And if you already have cardiovascular concerns, these supplements, combined with lifestyle
changes can definitely make a real difference.
Hard health isn't sexy and it doesn't look good on the gram, but it is one of the foundations
of everything.
You can build the best physique, had the best training, eat all the right foods, but if
your heart isn't healthy, none of it matters.
So support it proactively.
Omega-3's, magnesium supplements that matter, lifestyle habits, and that will support your
long-term cardiovascular health.
Definitely on this one, your future self will thank you.
Alright, I think that is me for hard health.
It's pretty simple, it's definitely important and it's known negotiable.
So until next time, stay curious, stay consistent, take care of that hot, it's usually the only
one that you get and good luck out there.
