A sweetener supplied to us as thaumatin, a natural sweetener, was instead sucralose, an artificial sweetener. Sucralose is widely used and permitted in New Zealand and Australia. The labels incorrectly identify the sweetener and, in some cases, state that the products only contain natural sweeteners or no artificial sweeteners.
