Blackcurrants are known as the ‘king of the berries’ and have been shown to exhibit many health properties including benefits to eye health, capillary tone, cell integrity and antioxidant activity.There is a powerful 1500 ORAC (oxygenradical absorbance capacity) units per Lifestream Blackcurrant capsule. Recent studies have shown New Zealand Blackcurrants effective in supporting recovery after exercise.
It is believed that it is the polyphenols and anthocyanins contained in blackcurrants which contribute to their potent antioxidant effect. Lifestream Blackcurrant is produced from New Zealand blackcurrants which contain some of the highest levels of polyphenols and anthocyanins compared to any other blackcurrants in the world.
